Instafilm 3000
I often start with these "grid doodles" from my childhood, and sometimes a skull sneaks in there. For this piece, there were six skulls. To me, they almost seemed like kids on the first day of school—their teeth could pass for braces—and they seemed happy, almost forced to be. I captured these moments in "Instafilm," and that was that; the piece was finished. But then, as I often do, I found another way to create a face out of things.
