At The Shore was created through experimentation with the Arashi Shibori technique of pole wrapping the fabric, then binding it with cord before submerging it into the dye bath. When I looked at the dyed fabric it resembled something I would see washed up at the ocean shore. I love the skeletal effect of all the lines and stitched to bring out that texture. The dark indigo represents the evening ocean pushing the object ashore.
